Inchture Area Community Council

MINUTE OF INCHTURE AREA COMMUNITY COUNCIL MEETING HELD AT INCHTURE ON THURSDAY 12th MAY 2016
PRESENT A.Bailey, G.McKinlay, D.Henderson, L.McFarlane, T.Woodford, D.Sword
APOLOGIES B.Bird
IN ATTENDANCE M.Roberts
Minutes from the March meeting were available and proposed by D.Henderson, seconded by G.McKinlay.
POLICE & FIRE
There was no representative present from Police Scotland. A.Bailey to contact Police Scotland to ensure they are aware of our future meeting dates and locations.
D.Henderson requested feedback on traffic management in Inchture Main Street in his piece for the Inchture Area Newsletter and will inform us of any responses at future meeting(s).
ROADS AND TRANSPORT
T.Woodford to enquire with PKC about the subject of a path to the southbound bus stop on the A90 for express buses.
EDUCATION
The Multi-use-gaming area (MUGA) at the school is set to be built during the summer of this year. This is the final project to use the funds given to the village by Muir Homes.
A member of the public informed the meeting that the parents of the 8 pupils attending Abernyte School have been contacted by Perth and Kinross Council regarding relocation to other schools. Anyone who is affected who would like the Community Council to become involved on their behalf is welcome to get in touch.
BROADBAND
All but 1/3 of Inchture can now access superfast broadband services. The remaining 1/3 is scheduled to go live in October and a notice has been posted regarding the positioning of the new green cabinet that BT will install to cater to that area (Muir Homes from number 30 onwards on Orchard Way).
PLANNING
The impact that the MUGA will have on parking once in use was raised but the members did not feel that the situation warranted an objection to the planning application. It is hoped that users will utilise the car parking by the church rather than clogging the residential streets opposite.
The new shop in Inchture is awaiting the outcome of its planning application for the size of the building as-built and its completion certificate. It was noted that internal fit-out looks to be complete including tills.
The local planning review regarding PKC's decision to refuse planning permission for two new houses at Ballindean will be held on Wednesday 24th May at 1030.
TREASURERS REPORT
A full update was given during the AGM which preceded this meeting.
TREES AND THE ENVIRONMENT
Members of the public enquired about the status of the new play park which has been constructed on Orchard Way amongst the newest houses in the Muir development. Councillor Mac Roberts updated us following the meeting that Perth and Kinross Council has adopted the play area and is maintaining it.
TWINNING
The twinning association AGM will be held on Sunday 19th June at 12pm at Outfield Farm Abernyte followed by a French picnic. All welcome.
AOCB
