Current 2026 'Our Area, Our Future' Consultation
What's happening?
A 'Local Place Plan' is being researched and compiled by the Inchture Area Community Council. This will be a document to be registered by Perth and Kinross Council. The Local Place Plan may be used as a wayfinder to guide decision makers by platforming local opinion.
The Inchture Area Community Council meet regularly to discuss what's going on in our area, consider planning applications and work to improve local issues. Our aim is to help gather the community's priorities for the use of land to make our area better, inform future planning policy and development proposals.
'Our Area, Our Voice' Community Consultation...
We have created a community consultation that will be open for everyone in the community to share their views. The consultation is running from 1st of February to 1st of March 2026. The consultation is in two parts; a questionnaire (guided questions) and an open map (for place-based comments). We would love to gather as many views as possible.
The Google Forms Questionnaire may take 15-20 minutes. No log-in is required. It covers four general topics (1, Development and Housing; 2, Heritage and Conservation; 3, Parks and Recreation; 4, Travel and Active Transport). You can complete this on a phone, laptop or tablet. Paper copies can be provided on request.
The 'Placecheck' map is open for any place-based comments. Add pins to the map on things you like, dislike or want to improve. These must be things within our local area, and they can cover the same four topics as the questionnaire. Make an account, up and down vote existing pinned comments and add your own pins.
If you have any accessibility requirements for taking part, you can use the 'Contact Us' page, or email [email protected], or come along to our next Community Council meeting.
Other local groups in Perth & Kinross have their Local Place Plans registered. You can read the published Local Place Plans here, on the council website.
What topics will be covered by the Local Place Plan?
There are four general themes that have been identified, but anything regarding future land use in our area can be considered.
1. Development and Housing 🏡 Sites where the community would welcome the development of new housing, or improving community facilities.
2. Heritage and Conservation 🏰 Places or buildings which the community values and wishes to protect.
3. Parks and Recreation 🌱Proposals to tackle climate change, such as renewable energy, flood risk management and tree planting. Sites for community projects such as food growing, community gardens, or recreational space.
4. Transport and Active Travel 🚲 Initiatives to improve and promote active travel.
What is NOT included in a Local Place Plan?
Any notes on maintenance of public spaces, littering complaints or repairs cannot be included. Please report the issue direct to PKC using the portal. To volunteer for litter picking, please see Cllr Angus Forbes, or litter pickers can be borrowed from the SPAR in Inchture.
How do I get more involved?
If you want to get more involved with the development of the Inchture Area Local Place Plan, please email [email protected], or come along to our next Community Council meeting.
To get involved with projects to help the community, please keep an eye out for What's On.
